Yoga DVD The Primary Series
Mysore Style is a unique learning method that originated in India. It is the traditional method for learning Ashtanga Yoga in its original form as taught by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, the father of Ashtanga Yoga, in Mysore, India.
Through Samasthiti (equal standing pose), Sun Salutations and standing poses you learn the principles of Ashtanga Yoga: movement (vinyasa), breath (ujjayi), gaze (dristi), and internal energy locks (bandha). Each pose is taught one-by-one to integrate the principles together, for easy sequence recall and to learn safe form. Each pose is individually tailored to meet your specific physical needs and ability level. You work at your own breath rate thereby developing your own practice. From this foundation you move into the Primary Series which consists of a sequence of seated postures. Back bends, Inversions then taking rest complete your practice.
The instructional DVD simulates Mysore Style through 28 sessions.
